Summary of the Project:

A NIHCM Foundation Journalism Grant will support a journalist in the 2021 class of the Health Coverage Fellowship, a program of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation. The Fellowship is designed to help the media improve its coverage of critical health care issues – from curbing health care costs to addressing mental illness, redressing public health threats, and rethinking late-in-life issues. Attention also will be given to ways of narrowing racial and ethnic gaps in the delivery of healthcare.

About the Grantee:

The Health Coverage Fellowship is housed at Babson College’s Center for Executive Education in Wellesley and is sponsored by the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation in collaboration with other foundations. The fellowship is directed by Larry Tye, a former Nieman fellow who covered health and the environment for 15 years at the Boston Globe and has written seven books.
