Mikayla Thompson manages the Research Briefs and Infographics programs, NIHCM’s research translation and visualization publications. Ms. Thompson assists with NIHCM’s Research, Journalism, and Policy Education Programming, including work on Research and Journalism Grants, Journalism Awards, Webinars, and the Population Health Spotlight, NIHCM’s monthly newsletter.

Ms. Thompson’s previous work experiences include the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Public Health Law Program and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Cancer Prevention and Research Training Program. She has published research studies with MD Anderson on cancer care outcomes. Ms. Thompson has also worked closely on research studies regarding environmental health, cancer prevention, maternal health, vaccine hesitancy, and global health.

Ms. Thompson graduated with a BS in public health and an MPH, concentrating on Health Services Administration from the University at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York. In her free time, she enjoys snowboarding and spending time outdoors with her dogs.
