Cory Harris

Mr. Harris leads Wellmark, Inc., a mutual insurance company owned by its members and the largest health insurer and benefits administrator in Iowa and South Dakota. Mr. Harris oversees the development and execution of Wellmark’s transformational long-term business strategies designed to help make health care more affordable, accessible and sustainable, and improve the health and wellness of its 2 million members.

His unwavering focus on doing what is in the best interest of Wellmark’s members is the cornerstone of his leadership. Mr. Harris also leads several of Wellmark's affiliated entities and chairs the board of directors of The Wellmark Foundation. He joined Wellmark in 2011 as executive vice president and general counsel and held several roles before being named CEO in 2021.

In addition, Mr. Harris is on the executive committee and board of directors of the Greater Des Moines Partnership and is a member of the Iowa Business Council. He holds a BA in business administration from the University of Iowa and earned both his MBA and JD degrees from Drake University.
