In the U.S., the maternal mortality rate is already as much as six times higher than in some nations, and it is the only place in the developed world where the maternal death rate is rising. Complicating the issue, nearly half of all U.S. counties lack a practicing OB-GYN, and data on maternal death is not consistently available in all states.
This webinar explored what’s behind the disturbingly high U.S. maternal mortality rates, looking for solutions in California, a state that has become a national leader in efforts to reduce deaths and improve pregnancy outcomes.
