has disproportionately impacted the black community

About the Data Insights

Recent protests against police brutality and the racial disparities in COVID-19 diagnoses and deaths highlight the need to address systemic racism as a public health crisis. Black people are dying at a rate nearly two times higher than their population share. However, the racial data for COVID-19 is still incomplete. In addition to addressing the inequality of the health care system, immediate action is needed to end the disproportionate rates of violence black Americans experience at the hands of police.
