Health Care Quality

Decades of academic research has demonstrated that there are wide variations in health care spending and quality between local health care markets. In addition, medical errors continue to plague our health system. NIHCM Foundation works with leading academic researchers and high-level stakeholders across disciplines and fields to address the problems of health care quality.

The quality of American health care, and how best to improve it in a managed care environment, is a major concern. In particular, there is much discussion about what role government should play. In 2003, NIHCM Foundation conducted a series of seminars and meetings to promote a constructive public-private dialogue on this important issue by bringing together policy makers and experts with a variety of perspectives. See Quality Publications for copies of meeting reports.
