Prevention Spotlight: Sharing Health Plan Initiatives in Promoting Prevention

Highmark's innovative demonstration project “Health eTools for Schools” is a recently implemented initiative designed to model CDC’s Coordinated School Health Program (CSHP).  The project provides an integrated health database to a pilot group of Pennsylvania schools and includes a secure electronic health record for each student, modules for policy development, and resources for best-practices exchange among participating schools.  This program supports the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s growing screening program and other unfunded state mandates.  View Highmark's website or the press release for more information.
