Webinar: Retail Stores and the Shift to a Consumer-Centric Health Marketplace
June 4, 2012, 1:00 PM EDT
The number of consumers in the individual health insurance market is expected to double by 2019. Many of the new consumers will be health insurance novices facing a daunting array of decisions. In light of these changes, innovative insurers are increasingly viewing retail stores as a consumer-friendly way to facilitate purchasing and encourage proactive health care choices.
This webinar on the consumer-centered retail model featured industry leaders discussing topics including:
- an overview of the new retail health care marketplace, from exchanges to retail storefronts,
- an in-depth look at the current models of retail stores from two early adopters, and
- why stores are evolving beyond sales to provide assistance with claims, health and wellness activities, and even access to primary care.
This event is part of the new NIHCM Foundation webinar series, Transforming the Health Care Landscape.
